Description

This course explores the ethical implications of artificial intelligence (AIs). It examines the moral worldviews guiding the creation and use of AIs, the power of AIs to influence daily life and human flourishing, the ethical questions raised by AIs as replacements for human labor (automation), and the possibilities of “consciousness” arising in AIs and the potential moral implications of artificial consciousnesses. The study of the ethics of AIs is conducted through primary and secondary sources, including videos, long and short fiction, and documentary and narrative films.
