Description

Basic electric circuit theory is covered, including direct current (DC), transient, and alternating current (AC) steady state analysis. Specific topics include the concepts of current, voltage, resistance, capacitance, inductance, impedance, power, energy, power factor, Ohm's Law, series and parallel circuits, Kirchhoffs Laws, nodal analysis, mesh analysis, Superposition Theorem, Thevenin's Theorem, Norton's Theorem, Maximum Power Transfer Theorem, Phasor diagrams, and introduction to the Laplace Transform in circuit analysis. Laboratory work and computer-aided analysis techniques are designed to correlate with circuit analysis theory and design.
