Description

In this course students explore the creative and expressive potential of needlepoint, embroidery, and other hand-stitching methodologies as a medium for image and mark-making on fabric. Potential application for sculpture and installation will also be explored. In addition to building technical skills, the rich history and significance of needlework and embroidery will be examined alongside contemporary artists' reclamation and evolution of this evocative art form.
