Description

(LC) Language & Culture (DM) Diversity & Multiculturalism

This course offers Spanish-speaking students an opportunity to study Spanish formally in an academic setting. This course is for students who can speak Spanish proficiently, but who have not studied the language in an academic setting. This course is designed to develop students' ability to speak, read, write, and listen in Spanish. Besides allowing students to develop or augment their academic Spanish language skills, the course also seeks to deepen students' knowledge of their cultural heritage. Reading and analyzing literary works by U.S. Latinx authors as well as various writing assignments will encourage students to reflect upon their own experiences and understand the diversity of U.S. Latinx cultures. This course is open to native, heritage, and other advanced students of Spanish.
