Description

(LC) Language & Culture

This is a one-semester introduction course to phonetics and oral Spanish. In this course students will learn phonetic symbols to represent the Spanish sounds graphically. Students will also learn to do phonetics transcriptions of words and sentences. In addition to these written activities, a substantial number of exercises are devoted to oral practice. The intention of the course is for students to learn and apply concepts and skills on an ongoing, long-term basis, far beyond the ending of this course.
