(WI) Writing Intensive

This course is a sequel to Part I. Students will apply the theories and skills developed in the first course with a particular focus on creating learning environments that are inclusive of all students. Through site placements in local, urban elementary schools, students will regularly observe various pedagogical practices and reflect on their observations, as well as design and implement lessons at their sites. Course objectives include implementing the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks in instruction and assessment as they relate specifically to student achievement and expected student outcomes. This class gives focused attention on the writing process and writing conventions and as such is designated writing intensive.
