Description

This course examines the environmental impact of economic activity and the effectiveness of environmental policy. Topics include: the depletion of minerals and oil, management of renewable resources such as water and forests; the conservation of biodiversity; mitigation of global climate change; and the regulation of pollution. Environmental policies are assessed in terms of costs, benefits, ease of implementation and the prospects for encouraging sustainable development.
