Description

The course covers the current advances and classical foundations of immunology. It includes: innate and adaptive immunity; the anatomic, cellular and molecular basis of the immune response; clonal selection; immunoglobulin structure and specificty; antibody-antigen inter- actions; key signaling pathways of T cells and B cells; cytokines; apoptosis in the immune system, classic and novel pathways of antigen processing and presentation; allergy and other forms of hypersensitivity; tolerance, autoimmune diseases and immune deficiency, including HIV.
