(VCI) Visual & Creative Inquiry (AI-A) Aesthetic Inquiry Art

This course introduces the tools and methodologies of tradiEonal black and white, photochemical photography in a lab-based environment. Students review the functions of small format film cameras, photographic exposure, and development of silver-gelatin negative film and paper prints, as well as digital presentation of traditional analog materials. This course stresses a haptic, analog materials-based approach to photography as a means of creative visual expression and communication. Via observation and praxis, students engage the scienEfic, technological, historical and creative foundations of photography.
